APICULTURE, A TRADITION IN ROMANIA
It all started in the late '60s, when Mr. Cornel Georgescu, the owner of the company, received as a gift from two clusters from an old experienced beekeeper, who guided his first steps in being a beeeeper. With perseverance, patience, sustained effort and study of all publications in the field, Cornel Georgescu slowly managed to penetrate all secrets of beekeeping, currently being one of the most famous and best known beekeepers in the country (about 200 hives)
WELCOME TO APICOLA PASTORAL GEORGESCU!
Beekeeping is practiced in Romania since ancient times. Thracians and Dacians, the ancestors of the Romanian people, used to keep bees, according to historical testimonies. In the 60s - 80s the professional beekeeping was founded and thus Romania became a major honey exporting country. Currently Romania produces annually, with a flock of over one million families of bees, 20,000 tones of honey of which 85% is exported and only 15% is consumed on the internal market.
